Jane Pyo

Postdoctoral Researcher

Dr. Jane Yeahin Pyo’s research examines how digital media technology impacts and shapes our civic and social life. She is particularly interested in exploring new modes of digital politics and ways of resistance in the online media environment. Her work also looks at ethnic digital media platforms from global and transnational perspectives, inquiring into their cultural impact on diasporic communities, with a focus on the disinformation environment. Drawing on multiple qualitative methodologies, including in-depth interviews and critical discourse analysis, she aims to address how people, often in marginalized positions, find ways to voice their opinions and resist social injustice in the global digital society.
